Telegram Business AI chatbot: your mate answers your DMs
Your mate answers the people who write to your own Telegram account, in your name, while you are away.
What you get
- Grounded answers in the thread
- Formatted the way the app shows it
- Replies from your Inbox
Set it up in the Console
Tap Connect my Telegram, sign in or create your account, and open Telegram Business in the Console.
In Telegram, open Settings › Telegram Business › Chatbots, add our bot — the Console shows its name — and allow it to reply to messages.
Create a one-time code in the Console and send it to the bot, or tap the link beside it; then tell it about your business.
An auto-reply for Telegram that actually answers
“I want it to reply in my place when I'm offline.” “I don't have a website, just this account.” “Give me the bot's address, I just need to connect it fast.” That is exactly this. With Telegram Business, people keep writing to your personal account and Busymate AI answers them in your name, from what you tell it about what you sell — prices, how to pay, when you are back — in their language.
It is not a fixed away text. It reads the question, answers from your own information, says when it is not sure, and tells you when a person is needed. The moment you reply in a chat yourself, it goes quiet there.
Set it up in a few minutes
You need one thing: a Telegram account with Telegram Business turned on. No website, no bot of your own, no code. Create your Busymate AI account, open Telegram Business in the Console, and it shows you the bot to add and a one-time code.
In Telegram, open Settings › Telegram Business › Chatbots (Chat Automation in some versions), add the bot and allow it to reply to messages. Choose which chats it may answer; most people exclude their contacts so friends and family keep writing to a human. Then send the code to the bot, or tap the link beside it. Added the bot first? Its reply tells you where the code is. The Console shows the connection as live the moment Telegram confirms it.
Give it what you know
Most of what your customers ask is in your head, your price list and your chats. Today you give it that as pinned answers (the questions you get every day, with your answer), your website if you have one, and a help center. It answers only from that and says when a question is outside it. Paste-in text, photos of a price list and your channel's posts are being built next.
You stay in charge
Reply yourself and it steps back in that chat for 30 minutes, a window you set in the Console. Pause it for the whole account in one tap. Every chat lands in your Inbox with the customer's name, and a reply you type there is sent from your account. It never promises what you did not tell it, and it answers only the private chats you allowed, never your groups.
What you need
- A Telegram account with Telegram Business turned on, and a Busymate AI account. You can start free.
- A few minutes: the Console screen, Telegram's settings, one code.
- Something for it to know: your pinned answers, your pages or a help center. Without that it has nothing to say about you.
What it answers while you are away
Illustrative exchanges on your own account: the wording comes from what you gave it, and it says when it does not know.
- Customer
- How much is the monthly plan and how do I pay?
- Your mate
- A month is €30. You can pay by card or bank transfer with the link below; Anna confirms it the moment she is back. [Pay for a month]
- Customer
- Are you there?
- Your mate
- Anna is away right now, so I'm answering for her. I can help with prices, availability and how to order, or take a message for her.
- Customer
- Can I get a refund on last month?
- Your mate
- I don't have the refund terms, so I won't guess. I've passed this to Anna and she will reply here. Anything else I can help with meanwhile?
Questions
- Live: our own business account has answered this way since October 2026. You keep using Telegram as before and can step into any chat.
- No platform fee: Busymate AI bills per workspace plan, not per channel. The channel's own provider may charge for its numbers, messages or approvals.
- It says when it is unsure. If handoff is enabled for your workspace and channel, it can ask your team to take over in the Inbox. It confirms when your team has been asked to help.
- Yes. Messages to your own account get an answer in your name, from what you told it about your business, and it stops in any chat where you reply yourself. You do not need a website or a bot of your own.
- No. You add our bot in Telegram's settings and link it with a one-time code from the Console. BotFather is only for running a separate bot that customers write to instead of you.
- No. An Away message sends one fixed text to everyone. Your mate reads each question and answers it, in the customer's language, and tells you when someone needs you.
- No. Give it your pinned answers, a help center or a site if you have one; it answers from whatever you gave it. Paste-in text and a photo of your price list are being built next.
- You can start free with Busymate AI, and Telegram charges nothing for the bot. Telegram Business itself is turned on in your own Telegram settings. The plans page says what each plan includes.
- Only the private chats you allow reach your workspace, never your groups, and each one shows in your Inbox. You can pause it or disconnect in one tap, in Telegram or in the Console. The privacy policy says exactly what is stored.
- In the language the customer writes, from the same information; you translate nothing.
